Re: Arnautovic
If his brother is still his agent then he can FUCK OFF.

Both of them thought he was bigger than the club.

In recent years, there are a few attacking payers who have had the talent and opportunity to leave a long lasting positive impression on the club.

Both Arnautovic and Payet in recent years fucked it up with their attitude and should never be allowed to pull the club shirt on again.

They are the opposite of what this current team seem to be about and whilst talent would be welcome, attitude would ruin what Moyes has built.

A no fee upfront but potentialy stealing a wage of a young prospect and putting key players noses out of joint by earning more than them

Re: Arnautovic
I thought he was superb for us. Not many people are equipped for the lone role up front. He was. I agree he’s a risk which is why any deal has some sort of performance/appearance attached

Re: Arnautovic
GSB making noises via C & H site that they are broke again and limited budgets. Need to borrow to meet transfer installments again etc. Arnie on big wages seems a daft move financially and China would hardly have seen him competing at the top level. The risk of him being a "spent force" in the Premiership must be very high. IMO this is like 99% of media stories is conjecture / speculation to get site traffic / attention. In other words, highly likely to be bollox

Re: Arnautovic
Absolutely not. He will be coming back for one last pay day. If we do that we haven’t moved on one jot. Same old West Ham retirement home.

Re: Arnautovic
I'd still like to see us get Adama Traore from Wolves. Absolute tank and the out and out pace we really lack at times. Very similar to Antonio too in terms of raw skillset.

Agree with that. We had Haller who cost us £45m and he couldn’t cut it.

We basically need another Antonio. One that can stay fit.

Re: Arnautovic
I know not any transfer is guaranteed, but you need to look at the likelihood of things happening.

Antonio getting Injured - almost a certainty.

Sima struggling - 19 year old, only played 19 games, first season in prem, high chance he takes a season to get used to the league.

Arnie off the pace - two years older, two years slower, only played 30 games in two years, shown he’s more interested in money than football, high chance he’d be off the pace.

Pessimistic? Maybe, but all of those scenarios seem likely to me.

Re: Arnautovic
Agreed

Arnie shouldn't be welcomed back

Pee Wee 11:10 Tue May 18
Re: Arnautovic
He might not have a transfer fee, but he would be a waste of money I’m my humble.

‘Free transfer’ really shouldn’t be a term used for players on his type of money as it makes fans think he is a bargain and that we can get him without it impacting other signings

Stubbo 11:06 Tue May 18
Re: Arnautovic
If we sign a CF who can't link play, take people on and out pace or muscle oppo the whole fanbase will be screaming waste of money.

Actually don't think we're good enough to have a regular CF who just hangs around in the box.

We need a winger-cum-striker style player who offers more.

Genuinely think Aguero in our side would struggle as we just don't carve out enough open play opportunities, and we expect our strikers to be able to carry the attack on their own.

Out and out CFs are becoming a thing of the past.

Stowie.40 10:32 Tue May 18
Re: Arnautovic
Antonio, Arnie & Sima. Basically all wingers who can play up front. Can’t we just sign a actual centre forward.

Huffers 10:12 Tue May 18
Re: Arnautovic
He was on 140k here by the time he signed a new contract to celebrate us going out the FA Cup

Stubbo 9:52 Tue May 18
Re: Arnautovic
If we're signing a gamble of a 19 year old, a free transfer that is a known quantity to both league and manager seems a no brainer if the manager is keen.

Stubbo 9:51 Tue May 18
Re: Arnautovic
Antonio, Sima and Arnie...suddenly we look all the more well equipped up top.

Whether Arnie could come back and be effective as anything but the main man who knows, but purely as a player he'd add to the squad depth for sure.

These days you almost can't be too precious about things in football...is all about making bank. Anyone in our club would have taken the China dosh at that crazy amount at the same stage in their career.

the exile 9:07 Tue May 18
Re: Arnautovic
Do we know if this drop in wages is a drop from what he is on now in China or a drop from what he was on with us before leaving. There's a big difference - he's thought to be on £200k in China. I don't know what he was on here but it can't have been more than half, surely.
